Diagnostic Testing

Naturopathic medicine aims to determine and treat the root cause of illness. Comprehensive laboratory testing allows us identity underlying causes and confirm a diagnosis to ensure effective treatment. Testing can also provide us with a baseline to monitor treatment progress and detect risk factors early on.

Conventional blood tests

Standard tests similar to those run by your MD, including complete blood count, cholesterol and lipid testing, blood sugar, liver and kidney function, thyroid, vitamin B12, iron, vitamin D and more.

comprehensive female hormone profile

This panel provides an overview of hormone status, analyzing Estradiol, Progesterone, DHEA-S, Testosterone, 4 point Cortisol, and a full Thyroid Panel including TSH, Free T3, Free T4 and Thyroid Antibodies. Since the hormones in the female body are highly interconnected, this profile gives us insight into of how the hormones interact with each other, and provides an excellent view of your complete hormonal status.

COmprehensive female fertility profile

Provides a detailed overview of the hormones with respect to fertility. the panel include FSH, LH, Estradiol, Progesterone, Testosterone, DHEA-S, Diurnal Cortisol, Sex Hormone Binding Globulin, AMH and a full thyroid panel including TSH, Free T3, Free T4 and Thyroid Antibodies. In particular, the thyroid and the adrenal gland, which have key roles in reproductive health, may be overlooked by other fertility investigations.

This panel includes Testosterone, DHEA-S, Estradiol, 4 point diurnal cortisol, Sex hormone binding globulin, PSA (Prostate specific antigen), and a full thyroid panel including Free T3 Free T4, TSH, and Thyroid Antibodies. Excellent for male fertility concerns, or general male health including andropause, low energy, and low libido.

Comprehensive male hormone panel

The Thyroid panel (free T4, free T3, Reverse T3, TSH, Anti TG and Anti TPO) can indicate the presence of an imbalance in thyroid function, which can cause a wide variety of symptoms, including feeling cold, low stamina, fatigue, depression, low sex drive, weight gain, and high cholesterol.

Comprehensive Thyroid panel

This test involves measuring cortisol levels from saliva samples collected throughout the day to gain information about adrenal health. Cortisol is an indicator of adrenal function. Under normal circumstances, adrenal cortisol production shows a diurnal variation and is highest early in the morning after waking, falling to lower levels in the evening. Normal cortisol production shows a healthy ability to respond to stress. Low cortisol levels can indicate adrenal fatigue (a reduced ability to respond to stressors), and can leave the body more vulnerable to poor blood sugar regulation and immune system dysfunction. High cortisol levels are often due to constant exposure to stressors, and can have serious implications for long-term health, including cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis and insulin resistance/diabetes.

Adrenal function testing

This test provides a thorough assessment of digestion, absorption, pancreatic function, and inflammation, in addition to bacterial balance, yeast, and parasite infection.

COmprehensive digestive stool analysis

A blood test to determine delayed reactions to specific foods that are triggered by IgG antibodies. In an IgG reaction, the IgG antibodies attach themselves to the food antigen and create an antibody-antigen complex. These complexes are normally removed by special cells called macrophages.  However, if they are present in large numbers and the reactive food is still being consumed, the macrophages can’t remove them quickly enough.  The food antigen-antibody complexes accumulate and are deposited in body tissues. Once in tissue, these complexes release inflammation causing chemicals, which may play a role in numerous conditions.
